Marilyne Trebus, Kering's new product asset
Luxury group Kering is continuing to strengthen its centres of excellence with the appointment of Marilyne Trebus as its new product director, effective immediately this Tuesday, according to a report by WWD. In her new role, she will report to Carlo Mocci, chief client officer, who took up his position last May and joined the group's executive committee.
Confirmed expertise in the luxury sector
Marilyne Trebus joins Kering from American brand Coach, where she held the positions of chief merchandising officer and general manager of lifestyle. She spent almost 12 years at the leather goods specialist, holding various strategic roles. A graduate of ESCP Business School, Trebus began her career in 2003 as a retail buyer for Celine in New York. Her career later took her to Valentino in New York and Milan. She then moved to Chloé in Paris, where she served as marketing and merchandising director for ready-to-wear.
"Reconkering" strategy in action
The new director's main mission is part of the broader internal strategy dubbed “Reconkering”. According to a group statement reported by WWD, her role is to “partner with the houses and provide sharper capabilities in marketing; product; omnichannel; commerce and customer growth”. She will therefore work closely with the various brands in the portfolio, which include Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Brioni and McQueen. The objective is to consolidate merchandising, pricing, integrated business planning and product development, with a focus on more agile and consumer-centric working methods.
Strategic reorganisation driven by management
Under the leadership of its new chief executive officer Luca de Meo, Kering announced in March 2026 the creation of two centres of excellence, focused on industry and the client. This initiative aims to optimise operational efficiency and support the sustainable growth of the houses. This global reorganisation has led to several key appointments, including Stéphane Noël as industrial director; Fedele Usai as marketing director; and Daniele Zito as commercial director. The chief executive officer highlighted this ambition at the time: “With these new centres of excellence, we are clarifying the organisation, connecting teams and guaranteeing efficiency at Group level to give our Houses the means to go faster and further.”
