Joe Browns chief executive officer Dawn Bannerman has stepped down from the fashion and homeware retailer with immediate effect, with her departure confirmed in a Companies House filing.
Bannerman, who was appointed CEO in February 2024, is leaving to “take up a new opportunity”, according to a statement shared by the company to the media, including Drapers. The search for her successor is underway, with the executive team assuming her responsibilities on an interim basis and reporting to the board.
During her tenure, Bannerman oversaw a period of customer growth and investment in the retailer’s digital capabilities. Joe Browns also expanded its offer through the launch of plus-size clothing and advanced its use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data.
“I am proud to be leaving the business in a strong position and with a clear platform for its next chapter,” Bannerman told the media. She added that she had valued working with the team and was grateful for her time at the business.
Joe Browns chair Michael Truluck added: “Dawn has led Joe Browns through an important period of change, broadening our range with the launch of plus size and growing our customer base. She leaves the business well positioned for its next chapter, and she goes with our thanks and very best wishes.”
