Luxury department store chain Bloomingdale's has announced plans to enter the Seattle market and open “Bloomie’s” in University Village.

“We are thrilled to enter the Seattle market with the opening of our third Bloomie’s location,” said Charles Anderson, Bloomingdale's director of stores. After introducing the retailer’s smaller format store in 2021 in Virginia and a year later in the greater Chicago area, the third location will open on the west coast this year.

According to Bloomingdale’s, the new concept “Bloomie’s” provides a casual, contemporary yet flexible store experience. It will remain authentic to the retailer’s brand by offering an innovative approach for customers. The concept store will sell brands for women and men including apparel, accessories, beauty, and gifts.

Bloomie’s will open in University Village in the Ravenna neighborhood, in the north of Downtown Seattle.
