SBF Group extends Nike distribution agreement in Brazil until 2034
Brazilian sporting goods entity SBF Group (SBF), which owns distributor Fisia, has announced an amendment extending its distribution agreement with Nike until May 31, 2034.
The partnership, established in 2020, grants Fisia exclusive distribution rights for Nike apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment across Brazil. The agreement covers both wholesale channels and brick and mortar operations, alongside direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce channels.
Rolling extension mechanism increases term predictability
The contractual amendment incorporates a continuous renewal mechanism on a rolling basis, under which both parties will meet annually to discuss extending the deal for additional one-year periods through formal documentation.
In a regulatory report signed by SBF chief financial and investor relations officer José Luís Magalhães Salazar, the group outlined the operational advantages of the renewed terms.
“Additionally, the amendment provides for a continuous renewal mechanism (rolling basis). Through this, the parties will meet annually to discuss extending the term of the Distribution Agreement for additional one-year periods by signing a formal extension document. This allows the companies to seek an extension of the contractual horizon each year. It provides a contractual term predictability of approximately seven years, compared to the previous five years, reinforcing the stability and continuity of the long-term partnership with Nike,” Salazar stated.
According to SBF, both entities regard the amendment as a “significant milestone in strengthening the strategic partnership with Nike” as the group maintains its commercial strategy in the South American market.
