London - Luxury online retailer Net-a-Porter has teamed up with Cathay Pacific to launch its debut inflight e-commerce venture.

The new partnership sees Net-a-Porter and its male counterpart, Mr Porter, launch their e-commerce platforms on Cathay Pacific A350 aircrafts via its new inflight wifi to offer passengers an exclusive inflight shopping experience.

"Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter’s partnership with Cathay Pacific is the meeting of two global, luxury brands known for innovation and service," said Sarah Rutson, vice president of global buying for Net-A-Porter in a statement. "Our customers are international, always on the move and time poor and so they value convenience above all."

The partnership highlights Net-a-Porter's increased focus on offering enhanced services to its customers in the Asia Pacific area, as the airlines is one of the major carriers to Hong Kong. For the next seven months passengers travelling on a A350 aircraft will be able to shop online at their leisure or browse both Mr Porter and Net-a-Porter's magazine inflight.

Passengers who make a purchase whilst travelling can have their purchase delivered to an addresses at their arrival destination and can even opt for same day delivery in London, Manhattan and Hong Kong. "We built our business on going the extra mile for our customers, and this project is an extension of our mission; with inflight connectivity we are enabling them to shop the very best edit of the world’s top brands whilst traveling the globe," added Rutson.
