Circular fashion: Denim Deal expands its approach to include repair with United Repair Centre

Denim Deal is expanding its approach beyond making jeans circular solely through the use of recycled materials. The signing of a partnership with United Repair Centre now integrates repair into its sustainable fashion strategy.

This partnership will be announced in Paris during the Denim Deal Days on September 23, 2026. The event is being held at United Repair Centre, Hôtel Industriel Berlier (Paris 13th arrondissement), in collaboration with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and the Fashion Green Hub.

Launched in the Netherlands in 2020, Denim Deal is an international initiative dedicated to denim circularity. It brings together brands, manufacturers, suppliers, collectors, recyclers and other value chain stakeholders around common commitments.

Founded in Amsterdam, United Repair Centre (URC) is a social enterprise specialising in large-scale clothing repair for brands and retailers.

Its model combines repair expertise with a digital platform. This platform is designed to enable brands to deploy this service on a large scale, manage it with data and integrate it into their after-sales service.

Its social component is based on creating jobs and providing training in repair skills for people who face barriers to entering the job market.

Partnership with a tangible aspect for brands

In a LinkedIn post, Denim Deal outlines the terms of the agreement: “Denim Deal members get discounted access to United Repair Centre's repair services. The idea is to bring repair and durability closer to the discussions on the concrete implementation of circular denim”.

The post goes on to explain that attendees at the September 23 event will work on how denim can be designed, sourced, repaired and recycled. The objective is to preserve its “emotional, functional and material” value.

It emphasises the practical nature of the day, which will include handling and comparing fabrics; direct discussions with manufacturers; expert sessions; and a Sashiko repair workshop.

“Denim Deal wants to show how sustainability, repair and post-consumer recycled cotton can work together in real product and business decisions,” the association stated.
