Boden gears up for Canada expansion
The CEO of Boden has confirmed that the British fashion brand has set its sights on Canada for a possible expansion.
Ben Dreyer told Drapers that Canada was determined to be the next market to venture into after the US, where Boden is currently building “a bit of muscle” to “understand how we can make [bricks and mortar] work”.
Once the company gains more experience in North America, it will then roll out more broadly.
Boden recently opened stores in Georgia and Tennessee, and has another location planned for Alabama, due to open in autumn, Drapers reported.
The US has become Boden’s largest market, raking in 161.7 million pounds in the year to December 28. 2024, accounting for half of total sales.
In the same year, the company returned to profitability after a turbulent period, with profit before tax amounting to 34.6 million pounds, up from a prior loss of 12.3 million pounds. Turnover rose 19 percent to 362.8 million pounds.
