Abercrombie & Fitch appoints Jeanetta Darno as Vice President

Abercrombie & Fitch has roped in Jeanetta Darno as Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. In this role, Darno will be responsible for enhancing the existing global diversity and inclusion best practices throughout the organization and will work alongside the leadership team to guide the company's overall diversity strategy. She will report to John Gabrielli, Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources.

Abercrombie & Fitch's efforts have earned recognition from organizations that measure corporate-wide activity in this area, including the Human Rights Campaign. Since 2006, A&F Co. has received a top score of 100 percent on the HRC's Corporate Equality Index, which recognizes the company as one of the ‘Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.’

Darno, a seasoned Human Resources executive, joins the company from Huntington National Bank, where she was Senior Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. In this role, she led the company's diversity and inclusion practice and focused on developing integrated solutions across the organization. Before joining Huntington, she spent seven years at Nationwide Insurance, where as Associate Vice President of Talent Management, she helped contribute to the company's recognition as a ‘Great Place to Work’ by Fortune magazine. Previously, she worked as Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Cardinal Health and as Director of Human Resources at H.E.B. Grocery Co. She began her career at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. as Division Manager of logistics recruiting.

Actively involved in her community, she is a founding member of the Central Ohio Diversity Consortium, a founding member of the Women's Leadership Council and a Key Club member at the United Way of Central Ohio, a board member of the American Heart Association and a member of the Executive Leadership Council. She also served as a Captain in the US Army.
